      PHILOSOPHICAL PERSPECTIVES OF EDUCATION

                        RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PHILOSOPHY AND EDUCATION

Education is a highly dynamic process. Its concept has undergone considerable change and it is likely to be modified from time to time in the light of changing conditions. It has varied in respect to variations in the environment- physical as well as social, and will continue to do so in the future.

"Philosophy and education are the two sides of a coin, the former is the contemplative side and the latter the active side".-James Ross.

These words of Ross shows that philosophy and education are intensely inter related. All educational questions are ultimately questions of philosophy. The art of education will never attain complete clearness in itself without philosophy. Thus there is an interaction between  the two and either without the other is incomplete and unserviceable.
